"Solar Sect of Mystic Wisdom" - Sunlight Goddess, Yatagarasu

Hello everyone, Ascriptmaster is back with a deck profile revisiting another one of the decks covered early in this blog, Sunlight Goddess, Yatagarasu. Yatagarasu is a card with great potential because of its ability to stand units and attack again with multiple columns of attacks. While G Units and Generation Break have not been revealed for Genesis yet, there are still a few cards from the Legion era that it can utilize with great effectiveness.

Grade 0

Battle Maiden, Amenohoakari
4 Battle Maiden, Kukurihime
4 Regalia of Far-sight, Clear Angel
4 Regalia of Foredoom, Lot Angel
4 Regalia of Compassion, Eir

Grade 1

4 Goddess of Self-sacrifice, Kushinada
4 Exorcism Regalia, Shiny Angel
4 Witch of Frogs, Melissa
2 Witch of Oranges, Valencia

Grade 2

4 Witch of Owls, Paprika
4 Witch of Ravens, Chamomile
3 Twilight Regalia, Hesperis

Grade 3

4 Oracle Queen, Himiko
4 Sunlight Goddess, Yatagarasu
Not much has changed about the Yatagarasu playstyle: it still utilizes its Soulblast 9 to draw cards and stand units, taking advantage of Chamomile and Melissa to call over rested units and force extra guard out of the opponent. Himiko's break ride skill also aids with this by giving power to units as needed, but it also should be planned out based on the Chamomiles and Melissas in the Soul. Paprika is also a good attacker for the deck, since its skill allows it to hit for 11000 unboosted, allowing you to stand it if you don't have spare Melissas in your Soul.

The new cards in the deck are the Regalia units, especially Exorcism Regalia, Shiny Angel. Shiny Angel allows you to take Regalia units from your Drop Zone and place them into the Soul when it is called, making it much easier to fulfill Yatagarasu's Soulblast cost multiple times, and reduces the need for extra Soulcharging out of the deck. The 12 Regalia triggers also aid in this by being targets for Shiny Angel's skill, and Lot Angel can give additional Soulcharge with its skill as well. Finally, Hesperis makes Yatagarasu's attacks more deadly by adding retire pressure to your Vanguard attack when it is sent from the Soul to the Drop Zone, where it can then be picked up by Shiny Angel and returned to the Soul for re-use.

The Generation Zone has been left blank in this deck profile because of the lack of Genesis G Units, but until they are released, it should probably be filled with a combination of Atmos, Blizza, and Harmonics Messiah, as they are Cray Elementals and therefore would count as Genesis. Just remember that if Amenohoakari is the booster behind the Vanguard, it will not activate its skill with a Grade 4 G Unit, but with Shiny Angel and the extra draws, getting the Soul you need shouldn't be a problem. If you are playing in an Extreme Fight tournament that allows clan-mixing, you could add G Units from other clans, but remember that your Grade 3 units are restricted by Lord, plus Paprika will not be able to activate its skills without one of the aforementioned Grade 3 units because only those units possess Limit Break.
